I AM the Bread of Life

I Am the Bread of Life
He who comes to Me will not hunger,
and he who believes in Me will never thirst.

After God delivered His people from bondage in Egypt, He provided manna for them in the wilderness. “It was like coriander seed, white and tasted like wafers with honey.” Exodus 16:31

“He satisfied them with the bread of heaven.” Psalm 105:40b

Just before they were to enter the promised land, Moses recounted God’s goodness to them – “God humbled you and let you be hungry and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.” (Deuteronomy 8:3)

God’s daily provision reflected their need of His loving, sustaining inter-action with them that could not be stored up, but only received each day.

Jesus said, “I am the Bread of life. He who comes to Me will not hunger; and he who believes in Me will never thirst.” (John 6:35)

“I am the Bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. I am the Living Bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh.” (John 6:48-51)

When we receive Jesus (John 1:12), we receive the provision of His life. We are led by His instruction (Romans 8:14) and nourished by His love (Ephesians 3:14-19).

The I AM the Bread of Life Art Card is found in the I AMS of Jesus Art Card Collection at Flower Girl Greetings.com

The original artwork for this Art Card was created with brush lettering and masking fluid that repelled the blue and orchid watercolors. This is the artist's favorite of the 12.
