I am Strengthened

June – I am Strengthened
Strengthened is the Hebrew chazaq and means strong, courageous, sure, steadfast, prevailing.

Here are the memory verses on the front of the I am Strengthened Art Card:

"Those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings as eagles; they will run and not be weary; and they will walk and not faint."
Isaiah 40:31

"Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might."
Ephesians 6:10

"On the day I called, You answered me; You made me bold with strength in my soul."
Psalm 138:3

"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."
Psalm 73:26

When we receive Jesus the Messiah, our Father God brings us into an eternal, intimate, covenant relationship with Himself by the Holy Spirit. He gives us names that describe our identity as those who have been born again into His family. They remain constant even though the clouds of our feelings, circumstances, weakness, grief, failure, and emotions may hide their reality. We have this hope as an anchor of our souls, a hope both sure and steadfast...(Hebrews 6:19)

The devotional on the back of the I am Strengthened Art Card:

I am Strengthened.

The soaring watercolor word on the balmy summer sky represents the gentle calm of being strong in His might.

The Hebrew word chazaq expresses the perseverance and courage that can only come through His Spirit, and not from our own strength.

The mighty expanse of the eagle’s wings teaches us that we soar effortlessly when we rest in His strength.

In the first chapter of his letter to the Ephesian believers, Paul prayed that their hearts would be enlightened so they would know and understand the greatness of the power that God had given to them.

Paul explained that this power is the same mighty strength that God brought about when He raised Jesus Christ from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms far above all rule and authority, power and dominion!

O Lord, teach me to rest in Your strength!
