I AM that I AM

12---I-AM-that-I-AM-1-LR

I AM that I Am
Before Abraham was born, I Am.

While Moses was tending sheep, He came to Horeb, the mountain of God. God called to him from a burning bush appointing him to deliver His people from Egypt. Moses asked God to tell him His name. God said, “I AM THAT I AM.” (Exodus 3:14)

The Hebrew pronoun for that is asher and can also mean who or which.

The phrase I AM THAT I AM is derived from a verb meaning to be that is a continuing action.

Therefore, the phrase means The One who has always existed and who always will be. God gave His Name with a promise to Moses - I am He who will continually be with you.

The prophet Daniel saw Him in a vision:
“I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven, One like a Son of Man was coming, and He came up to the Ancient of Days and was presented before Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away; and His kingdom is one that will not be destroyed.” (Daniel 7:13-14)

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.” (John 1:1-2)

Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I Am.” (John 8:58)

“To the only God our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory and majesty, dominion and authority before all time and now and forever. Amen.” (Jude 1:25)

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God the Almighty who was and who is and who is to come.” (Revelation 4:8)

The original artwork for the background of this card followed a time-honored traditon of learning by painting a master’s work. With oils, I painted part of Mark Gingerich’s painting called Marco Island Stormy Skies. I designed and painted the letters with metallic ink and watercolor to reflect the solid strength and transcendent clarity of the Great I Am.

The I AM that I AM Art Card is found in the I AMS of Jesus Art Card Collection at Flower Girl Greetings.com

"When I saw this card, I thought it was too beautiful for me to be looking at. I was awed by the art and how it moved me!"  Larry from Colorado

Welcome to Shale Fragments, a collection of writings and art for individual and group use!

Teaching God’s truth and the beauty of His Word is my greatest delight! My art card company, Flower Girl Greetings, was launched in 2012 with this purpose. In April 2020, ShaleFragments.com became the gathering place for the writings.

As I have studied the rich meanings of the original Greek and Hebrew languages of the Bible, I continue to see beautiful progressions and connections that compel me to organize and convey their life-changing beauty!
